CoreFirst is an innovative, auto-adaptive solution that dynamically links business services to underlying IT infrastructure, assuring service delivery and optimizing IT resources. CoreFirst allows an IT organization to profile its existing multi-tier workload. This is accomplished by identifying logical business transactions with the work units that compose them even if the work units are executing on multiple tiers. This end-to-end, cross-tier visibility into the workload, combined with a view of business priorities, enables IT to define which transactions, users and scenarios are most important from a business perspective. CoreFirst then uses these definitions to enforce a Business Transaction Management policy that dynamically operates within the various tiers, ensuring that more resources are allocated to the work units that belong to high-priority business transactions. And to be certain this value is delivered with a minimum of effort and system overhead, the solution is transparent to applications and can work in existing infrastructures with no need to overhaul servers, operating systems or applications.
